What Kind of Love Is This.

In the garden, Adam and Eve were deceived. She didn’t understand the value of Jesus’ Presence and provision. The snake told her otherwise and she didn’t understand the weight of what she was going to lose. She, along with her husband, chose then to sin against the one that made them and lose connection with the only One their souls rested in.(genesis1-3) I can imagine the regret and ache Adam and Eve felt in their hearts when they were separated from God. Even more, I can only begin to imagine the deep pain in Jesus’ heart when this happened. His greatest desire was to be WITH US. Not because we deserve it but because He’s always been a good Father and desires to love those He made.

What. Kind. Of. Love. Is. This.(john3:16)

He came when you + I didn’t deserve Him and He gave and gave and gave. I cannot ever fathom the value of Jesus’ redemption and His Presence. When I lock eyes with Him, kindly, He begins to show me more of His character and all the things of this world grow strangely dim. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I want to lay down the lies and the law. Can we all pick up instead, the grace He offers. Can’t we carry with us His truth that we are not enough and that is okay because it’s the very reason He came, lived, died, and defeated death.

What. Kind. Of. Love. Is. This.

That our Father, Creator, Redeemer saw that we can not do it on our own + He chose to offer Himself in place.

An appropriate response I think would be to fall on our faces and worship Him. And I think it's a point to say that we shouldn't respond that way out of obligation but instead because we FINALLY understand the value of what we lost+ Jesus returned. May we let rest + resting in Him be the daily rhythm of our lives (genesis 2:2-3,,mark 2:27). May we not get so wrapped up in all we have to do on this earth that we miss His love. After all, we find true rest in His presence, not in finishing a to-do list.

Sons and Daughters, that’s what He calls us (2 corinthians 6:18) + He wants you to come to Him. No sin. No shame. Just you. That’s all he sees- His beloved child and He wants to redeem all that is broken (psalm 147:3)+ return all that has been stolen.

Dear God,

Can you please come + open the hearts of every son and daughter that reads this. It’s not me doing anything but fully you Lord. Could you show them your Love? What an extravagant love it is. Show them your character as it is displayed in your Word. It’s a full act of redemption+grace and I thank you for that. From the garden, to the law+covenant, to the cross, and to heaven. Help your children see fully who you are. I pray that all labels and lies from the enemy about Your character would become so small. You are Yaweh- the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion, and sin. Yet you do not leave the guilty unpunished. You punish the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation(exodus 34:6-7). Show us more of who you are God. Thank you for your truth, kindness, and redemption. You deserve all the glory and honor.

In Jesus name, amen

Made clean because of grace.

10/30/21 I was washing my back patio with a pressure washer and was surprised about how dirty the patio actually was before I washed it...
