"come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest" -Matthew 11:28

This is an invitation from my Father

When I have a long day ... He gives me rest

When I sleep restlessly the night before ... He gives me rest

When I try to do it on my own... He gives me rest

and when I sleep a restful night, still... He gives me the eternal rest I need

It's a invitation that I pass up WAY too often. It's a resting place that I know is so good but still, I don't sit in it. It is often only when my circumstances force me to lean back in the Fathers' arms and rest, that I actually let myself.

And it is the sweetest place to be when I get there. My Father is never disappointed in me for how long it took to let Him embrace me. He is only and fully glad that that I am simply with Him. He loves to remind my heart who He is and whose I am in this resting place. He loves to wrap His loving arms around me with joy and protection.

And there are times when I get up from rest in Him. Even after it took me so long to get there, I get up and I say, "Father, I can do it on my own now"

And he doesn't scold me for He knows that resting is a practice and it takes time to learn to continually fall back into Him. That is why He waits for me every single day while His grace is being poured over me, all the more.

One of the greatest things about this rest is that He offers it to you too. Sons and Daughters, accept your Father's invitation. Rest in Him. It is the sweetest, deepest rest for your heart and soul that you will ever find.

The passage in Matthew goes on to say how we can get to this resting place...

"Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you'll discover that I am gentle, humble, and easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear" Matthew 11:29-30 (TPT)

Accept His invitation to rest every single day. It will be the best thing you'll ever do.

Made clean because of grace.

10/30/21 I was washing my back patio with a pressure washer and was surprised about how dirty the patio actually was before I washed it...
